Stone Soup

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb ground beef/turkey
1 bay leaf
1 can of whole tomatoes
½ tsp of pepper
1 tsp of salt
¼ tsp of basil
½ cup of chopped onion
1 cup of cut up carrots
1 cup of cut up celery
1 cup of cut up potatoes
1 cut up bell pepper

DIRECTIONS:

1.  Brown meat, onion and bell pepper in a skillet.

2.  Transfer to a stock pot.  Add all of the remaining ingredients with the exception of the tomatoes.

3.  Simmer until vegetables are tender.

4.  Add tomatoes and sprinkle with basil.
