Occasionally, I try to imagine the volume of prayer requests that God receives from us on a daily basis. “Help us pay the monthly bills!” “Restore my broken marriage!” “Heal my mother!” “Give me more of your blessing!” Our God answers a high volume of requests and, fortunately, He is completely capable of handling that volume.
But, how often do we express our thankfulness for all that He has already done in our lives? How many of us limit the expression of our gratitude to a prayer around the dinner table at Thanksgiving? Compare that with Psalm 30:12, which reads, “That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.” Let’s not wait until the fourth Thursday in November to show the Lord how abundantly thankful we are for all the blessings He has provided.
