Life can be a challenge, at times it can be down-right difficult. We all walk through seasons where we feel as if we are barely hanging on. Seasons of discouragement, failure and even unfulfilled dreams can cause us to waiver in our faith. The disappointment of marriage, motherhood, and even ministry can lead us to doubt. Perhaps, you’ve been faced with a difficult season of health or financial issues; hardships that linger can cause us to lose hope. The longer the season, the more difficult it can be to stand. In seasons like these it’s so important that we are rooted and grounded in truth.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 says “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
The key to standing strong is found in God’s Word. According to Jeremiah 17:7-8 there are five keys to standing strong.
The First Key: “blessed is the one who TRUSTS IN the Lord.”
We must be willing to trust that the Lord is who He says He is and that He will do what He promised He would do.
The Second Key: “whose confidence IS the Lord”
Your confidence must rest in knowing that God is bigger than anything that you will ever face and that in Him do you move and breathe and have your very being, therefore He has our best interest at heart.
The Third Key: “we would be like a tree PLANTED by the water.”
Just like trees we must be firmly planted and rooted in God’s word allowing it to flow through us so that it might empower us to stand when the storms come.
The Fourth Key: “It does not FEAR”
When we know who we are and whose we are, fear has no place in our lives. When you begin to embrace the fact that you are a chosen daughter of the King, fear must leave.
The Fifth Key: “It does not WORRY.”
The last and final key really hinges on all of the other keys. You see when your trust and confidence are in the Lord, and you are planted in His word and living a fearless life, there is no need to WORRY and therefore you can stand firmly.
Remember this, you’re God’s girl and He’s given you everything you need for life and godliness. His promises to you are from everlasting to everlasting, they are written throughout His word. From Genesis to Revelations He’s given you the keys to be victorious and face any challenge. The bible it’s your foundation and will steady your footing.
