Butter Pound Cake

INGREDIENTS:

Pound Cake:
2 sticks butter
½ cup Crisco
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour, sifted
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon lemon extract or lemon juice & vanilla extract

Lemon Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tablespoons of lemon juice
½ teaspoon of lemon extract


DIRECTIONS:

Pound Cake:
1.  Blend butter, Crisco and sugar and add one egg at a time.

2.  Alternate with milk and flour, then add vanilla and lemon extract.

3.  Bake in well greased and floured pan (tube pan) at 325º F for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Lemon Glaze:
1.  Mix all ingredients together and beat well.

Take fork and punch holes in pound cake while it is warm and then pour glaze over the warm cake.
