You Matter

You Matter

By Lois Evans

Every Christian has a specific call from God. The prophet Jeremiah received that call when he was a child. God spoke directly to him and said, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you”.— (Jeremiah 1:5).

God knows you, too. In fact, He knows you much better than you could ever know yourself. God has called you to Himself and to His service. And He’s made you in a specific way to carry out that call. He has created your personality. He’s chosen your background and life experiences. He has chosen the intricacies that make you unique in order to glorify Him.

David speaks of this special intimacy in our creation when he writes in Psalm 139:13-14, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

One of the greatest things that you can do is discover that you are uniquely created. If you’re searching for your purpose or the path that God has for you, look for Him. He is the One who made you and He will be the One to reveal it to you. It’s such a liberating thing to learn about the unique way God designed you and to watch Him unveil the plan He has for your life!

Let’s Talk About It

Have you discovered the unique way God has created you and the plan He has for your life?

  2. How can I be certain? I pray about it all the time, but as excited as I am on my new life path, I still wonder if I made the choice or He did… or since I prayed on it, did He help me make the choice? I only want to glorify Him, and I don’t want to make a mess of what He wants for my life.

    1. Vicki, that sounds like something I would say. It’s important to stay humble. God will put his “stamp of approval” on things he calls you to do, but we have to first step out onto the water and trust Him. We left everything to come to a random (to us) place to start a church. It’s been a little over a year and we have been through many changes in our own home, lots of growth, and lots of letting go and trusting God. God’s word says if He has called you to do something he will provide and He has. We just need to keep saying yes to God and letting go of our human understanding. We don’t have to have it all figured out. Trust is the key. We also need to remember, no one is perfect. God called liars, adulterers, murders, etc… to lead nations. Who are we to tell God what he can and can’t do? He has a perfect plan!! Be flexible!! Be patient!! Love!! Don’t give up!! Trust God!! Let go!!

    2. You will be certain, when opportunity comes knocking at your door, that matches your purpose, passion and gifting, that fits in line with your Biblical priorities. Titus 2:2-5. #seasons
      Praying for you.
