Life can be a challenge, at times it can be down-right difficult. We all walk through seasons where we feel as if we are barely hanging on. Seasons of discouragement, failure and even unfulfilled dreams can cause us to waiver in our faith. The disappointment of marriage, motherhood, and even ministry can lead us to doubt. Perhaps, you’ve been faced with a difficult season of health or financial issues; hardships that linger can cause us to lose hope. The longer the season, the more difficult it can be to stand. In seasons like these it’s so important that we are rooted and grounded in truth.

One thing that I have noticed over the many years that I have served as a wife to a minister is that staleness can creep into a woman’s life when she begins to base who she is, or her identity, on a performance standard set by others.

I have faced criticism in my life, as both a pastor’s wife and a human. I have come to the realization that although it hurts, not everybody is going to like me, and that is ok.
